Message from The Founders
As like many others, it all started with a love for animals which has carried us through and made us the organization we are today.
We happened to meet by chance, living next door to each other. We were both very active participants in the community's Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) programme which sparked the idea of starting an animal society to legally raise funds for use in this programme.
Before being an officially registered entity for animal welfare in March 2002, we were funding our projects entirely out of our own pockets. When the SARS epidemic occurred, we had to refocus all our efforts into rescuing sterilized animals as most of them were being culled. As the years went on, we opened our doors to the sick and abandoned as well. We are still actively participating in community programmes centred around rescuing animals, sterilizing them and also treating them.
While unsuspecting and trusting animals are often captured and meet their imminent ends, others come to a 'no-kill' shelter like ours which has become a sanctuary for all animals where they will never face the threat of being killed or put down.
These are our surviving charges beseeching all Animal Lovers to join us in our cause and to provide all animals the love and care they deserve.
We hope that this website will bring forth better visibility and awareness to the predicaments of over 500 animals housed at ALL.
Lastly, a big thank you to all of you - without your help, we wouldn't be where we are today.
